Dr. Mark R. Brinker - Tendenci Case Study

This is a project that I managed from conception to completion while at Schipul.

Roles:

  • Created initial project scope and design guidlines based on clients request and needs
  • Main point of contact and liason between the Dr. Brinker team and Schipul's in house designers and developers
  • Played a major role in developing the website's site structure and navigation
  • Responsible for formatting and optimizing all content

Dr. Mark Brinker - Mark R. Brinker, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Trauma/Acute Injury and Reconstructive Surgery.

In addition to his qualifications as a physician, Dr. Brinker is a published researcher and product designer.

He holds staff appointments at several hospitals in and around Houston’s Texas Medical Center including Texas Orthopedic Hospital, Hermann Hospital, The Methodist Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital.

The Dream

Accomplished and well respected in his field, Dr. Brinker wanted a clean, professional website that displayed who he was, what he did, and what other people thought about his services, while increasing his rank among the top search engines.

Key features requested by Dr. Brinker for his website were the ability:

  • To display a collection of the doctor's Published Articles
  • To display Case Studies from surgeries performed by the doctor
  • For patients and potential patients to learn information about a particular Injury or Problem
  • For patients and potential patients to research information about treatment for particular body parts
  • To display stories from past patients

Highlighted Features

Case Studies

Dr. Brinker has over 50 case studies from previous surgeries that he performed.

For navigation,  Case Study landing pages were created for each of the main Injury/Problem types serviced by Dr. Brinker.

On these landing pages, the image of a skeleton helps patients and potential patients isolate the Injury/Problem for the particular body part that is causing concern.

On each of the Individual Case Study pages, there is a custom navigation box that allows a potential patient to navigate to case studies in the same category.  They are also able to find information on the particular body part or injury/problem.

Articles

Dr. Brinker has over 80 published articles that are featured on the website.

These articles are located in the Tendenci Articles module, and use the Category and Sub Category feature for Injury/Problem and Body Part.

Each article includes a summary as well as a link to a downloadable .pdf of the complete article.

Patient Stories

Dr. Brinker also wanted to highlight and showcase some of his patients' most successful stories.

We created a Patient Stories landing page for this purpose, as well as individual pages for several testimonial videos
